History

Hubert de Givenchy (1927-2018) was a French fashion designer. Before founding the House of Givenchy in 1952, Givenchy designed for other prominent designers such as Fath, Dior, and Balmain. After founding his own house, Givenchy went on to dress notable figures and actresses. Most famously, Givenchy designed the emblematic black dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in the film, "Breakfast at Tiffany's." Givenchy retired from design in 1995.
