This series concerns the community college's corporate status and degree-granting authority. It includes charters, statutes, bylaws, faculty codes, and planning documents, as well as associated correspondence and background materials.

Official minutes and hearing proceedings of governing body or board, commission or committee thereof including all records accepted as part of minutes. Most hard copies of minutes from 1987, 1988, and 1989 are missing. Beginning in the 1990s, minutes from the Staff Housing Authority meetings and Student Housing Authority meetings began to be intermingled with the Board meeting minutes. Also, one will find among the Board minutes copies of the Bylaws, Strategic Plans, and press clippings.

The Board of Trustees records consist of nine (9) records series; 1) Miscellaneous records; 2) Executive, Manager, or Administrator's office files; 3) Member records; 4) Bylaws; 5) Procedures for meetings; 6) Official minutes and hearing proceedings (the bulk of the series); 7) Minutes of Auxiliary Meetings; 8) Meeting agendas; and 9) Chartering documents, statutes, and establishment plan.

The member records document the activities of board members, and in some cases, the members themselves.

This sub-series includes correspondence, speeches and other writings, press clippings, and photographs.

Bylaws address articles of organization; the make up and reach of the Board's powers; FIT officers; the FIT seal; amendments; and miscellany.

This sub-series includes memos and other correspondence as well as speeches and other writings.
