Biographical history

Madame Eta Hentz was a Budapest-born, New York-based fashion designer known for her ready-to-wear women's collections throughout the 1920s-1940s. She designed for the collection Ren-Eta (a business partnership with Maurice Rentner) and beginning in the 1930s, for her own label, Eta. Madame Eta was known for popularizing Grecian drapery and motifs in contemporary fashion collections with her lauded Grecian-themed collection in 1943.
